Tarantino looking for 'Aryan' extras for new WWII film

A German casting agency has called for extras to try out in late September for the new Quentin Tarantino film “Inglorious Basterds,” but only those who fit Aryan stereotypes need apply.
The agency Film Gesichter will be looking at potential extras and small roles on September 20 and September 27 at Babelsberg Studio just outside Berlin for the film set during World War II.
“Because the film takes place during the Second World War, the agency will only hire extras who fit into this time visually,” the agency said on its website.
Blond men between the ages of 20 and 45 with military experience are at the top of the agency's list, though women and children will also be considered. Applicants with dyed hair, piercings, or a fondness for tanning beds are “taboo” according to the agency.
“We are looking for normal people as well as those with distinctive faces,” Film Gesichter said, adding that it is also seeking amputees for minor roles.
Male applicants must be willing to cut their hair in the style favoured at the time – long on the top and short on the sides. “Without the historically correct haircut, employment on this film will not be possible,” the statement said.
Applicants should also bring their body measurements for costuming purposes.
Registration for the casting call is not necessary, and those chosen will be cast for between one and four days on the film.
The film is set to begin filming on October 13 in the German capital, starring Brad Pitt, Mike Meyers, Diane Kruger, Til Schweiger and Daniel Brühl.
The supposed script of “Inglorious Basterds” was leaked in mid-August and published on the internet.
If the script is genuine, the film will feature Pitt as the leader of a band of American-Jewish soldiers sent behind enemy line during World War II to murder as many Nazis as they can in horrific ways.
